Biometrics App Product Concept

A personal healthcare social diary and records management system.

Project Summary

This project was a complete design reimagining of a legacy software application that had become overly complex and visually outdated over time. The original platform was heavily data-driven, presenting users with dense information and numerical outputs that often led to cognitive overload. The goal of the redesign was to modernize the interface, improve usability, and create a more approachable, intuitive experience that felt personal rather than purely analytical.

Instead of applying a superficial visual refresh, the effort focused on restructuring how information was organized and delivered. The new design emphasizes clarity, hierarchy, and progressive disclosure — surfacing the most important insights first while allowing users to explore deeper layers of data as needed. Complex metrics were translated into visual summaries, contextual indicators, and digestible insights to reduce overwhelm and support faster decision-making.

The Challenge

• Cognitive overload from data-dense screens
• Poor prioritization of key insights
• Limited personalization
• Outdated visual design and interaction patterns

Users struggled to quickly understand what mattered or what actions to take.

My Approach

• Conducted UX audit and stakeholder alignment sessions
• Reframed information architecture around insight-first hierarchy
• Applied progressive disclosure to reduce cognitive load
• Translated complex metrics into visual summaries and contextual cues
• Introduced a cleaner, modern design system foundation

Shown:  login screen, navigation panel, and onboarding screens.

Shown:  Social dashboard, Reports, and Goals. This concept included the abilities to view healthcare reports (could also be automatically captured by certain input devices), view immunization records, and set personal fitness goals.

Shown: application screens designed to be a healthcare compendium of personal information with an added social twist that allowed monitoring of certain vital information by invited parties.

The Results
The redesign transformed the experience from a dense reporting tool into a modern, insight-driven platform. Users could identify critical information faster, navigate with greater confidence, and engage with personalized data without feeling overwhelmed.
